This Hunger,
© JW McKeeth 1997

To satisfy this hunger
Is solely up to me
I won’t find inside another
Who I am to be

Love comes from me loving
Sharing who I am
Not from me obtaining
What I think I’ll feel with them

I’m whole right now this moment
My truth is what I live
For I know as well the torment
Of getting what I give

So, if it’s joy that sates me
I must create my own
My fate’s in how I choose to be
Not in the past I’ve known.

I have the tools, the wonder
I have all that I need
To satisfy this hunger
Is to be the one I feed

Being

I'm just as kind as I am mean
just as hidden as I am seen.
I'm just as bland as I am bold,
just as young as I am old.
I'm just as good as I am bad,
just as happy as I am sad.
I'm just as awkward as I am cool,
just as wise as I'm a fool.
I'm just as me as I am you,
and the best/worst part is you are too.

Down Life's Road
© JW McKeeth 1989

Age cannot tell us what we know
where we are, or where will go
It is in moments that we live
that we take and that we give

We celebrate our day of birth
grateful that our lives have worth
For precious are those days we have
living them to love, to learn, to laugh

We go forth and distant from the past
making memories we choose to last
And place no limits on what we learn
For down life's road, there's no U-turn.
